| Wow. Today I participated in the Hoop dreams 3 on 3 tournament in DC on Pennsylvania ave. It turned out to be a day filled with vicious bball games, the most ghetto referee ever (who just happend to referee our court), attractive ladies and free food. Our roster consisted of:
Team name: Below the rim (since we play below the rim as opposed to above)
Jason (the lethal lefty)
Masmik (the finesse)
Me (disabled since Thursday due to lower back pains)

The play started at 9am. The format of the tournament was: there are
14 courts, and 7 teams get assigned to each court according to their
"height and skill level" they put on the registration forms. The 7
teams on each court play in a round of robin. The team with the best
record on each court go on to the playoffs at 4pm.
But somehow we get stuck on a court with all these massive ballers who ranged from 6'1-6'7 range. Awesome. There was actually a team that had players our height, but they were high school kids probably 10 years younger than us.
So we had been scheduled 6 games to play on our court. The game is played to 11 points or 10minutes, whichever comes first. We play our first game against a team that has 2 huge wide guys that can't be stopped like Shaq. I can't do much in the game cuz my lower back is killing me. We last 5 minutes and lose 11-3.
We proceed to lose the next 2 games until lunch time comes around. Dejected and hungry, we stroll over to the food tent to find some comfort.
Wait, this isn't the food tent --- on the way, we stumbled onto the tent where the Washington Wizards cheerleaders were hanging out at. The girls directly next to Masmik and Jason are pretty cute. But if we glance more to the right:
We have Ms. 100% sexiness. She was definitely the cutest one there. Cute smile and nice and dark.
Anyway, we finally get to the food tent, with 2 massive grills nearby:
After eating some grilled chicken and hotdogs, we check out the main stage where they have guest speakers. One of them is Arthur Agee, the dude from Hoop Dreams the movie ! It was a very good movie/documentary released in 1994.
Then we check out the Celebrity game, where there were likes of Gary Clark, Brendan Haywood, Adonal Foyle, White Chocolate and other ppl I didn't know.

After lunch, we proceed to lose all our next games except the last game. In the last game, the high school kids team decide to mess around in our game cuz they're not playing for anything now (out of the playoffs). Then the game is declared OVER in 3 minutes by our referee at the court, because the kids were just playing around. So technically we didn't lose the last game! Meet THE ENFORCER:
Quite possibly the most ghetto-est referee ever. He refereed all our games. He was very nonchalant about the whole thing, and was always distracted by someone talking to him while the games were going on. He rarely called any fouls, and the only fouls he called happened when someone would get smacked and collapse to the ground.
Wait, he's wearing some kind of a towel/shirt in front of his shorts. We can kinda make out what it says, but let's zoom in on it and rotate it:
YES --- it says YING YANG TWINS. what the heck. where did this guy come from?!
But this guy was hilarious. He would yell AT the players instead of having the players yell at him! When one team was complaining about getting fouled at the end of their game, he would yell at them, "GET OUTTA HERE! YOU'RE DONE!"
I had to capture a video clip on my camera in the final game we were watching, between the 2 best teams on our court. It was simply awesome. The game went to overtime and Mr. Enforcer just did his thing. He yelled at the players during the game. And after the game.
In the end, my teammates got really banged up from the vicious games we played. Sam got a crucially bruised finger and Jason got a tiger knee to his thigh.
But overall it was fun to be there. We will be back next year but we will need some substitutes, and will need to put down our skill level as "Rookies" instead.

It's the start of another beautiful week. 3 more weeks until xmas! 2 more weeks until my bday! nice.
As we get closer to the end of yet another year, plz reflect on what u
guys have all around u. We are getting older but wiser and we
should be thankful for many things that we take granted for.
